Lighting
is the fastest and simplest way to realize quick
returns from your energy management investment,
while also achieving improved occupant comfort
and productivity. Lighting is one of the largest
power consumers in a facility, which makes the
lighting retrofit a critical component of every
energy efficiency strategy. By utilizing new technologies
that provide more light with fewer lamps and with
ballasts that do not generate a large amount of
heat, energy savings can reach 50%. Electronic
ballasts, for example, boost fluorescent efficiency
by up to 30% and Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL)
fixtures are up to 75% more energy efficient than
standard fixtures and last considerably longer.
Adding occupancy sensors further increases energy
efficiency by turning off lights when no one is
present.
